Walk
on Water Ministries was organized at the end of
2008. Mark Malan with his beautiful assistant Jenny
Baker presented information about this new 501C.
This is a non profit group who attempts to bring
Christian family entertainment to the area. The had
two well received concerts their first year. Mark
was overwhelmed by the responses through email and
on Facebook to this concept and the need for the
service. The artists and speakers are focused on all
ages. Walk on Water is also working with fund
raising for local area community groups in need. The
organization is run by volunteers. The problem that
faced this group was the limited seating available
in the area. The maximum seems to be around a
thousand people. Their goal this year is to organize
a larger gathering. They have found a 160 acre area
south of Brainerd. Volunteers from all over the area
and out state are coming forward to help with this
event which they call the Walk on Water Festival.
The festival is three full days, June 17th-20th.
Full event packages prices vary but run around $54
if purchased early. One day pass at the gate is $50.
Check the information on their website. The festival
will start on Friday evening and end with Sunday
morning worship. This is a camping event but there
is no electricity available. Right now over 40
Christian artists are committed. It will involve
three stages, including a low key Stone House Coffee
stage which will feature more local talent. There
will be 10 artists per day on each stage. A dozen
food vendors will be working the festival and they
are advertising "food around the world". The music
of the artists along with many other great buys will
be feature in the merchandise tent which includes
space for 80 different sections. Mark Malan stressed
how blessed the group has felt since starting his
project. He also feels that this will be a great
benefit to the community. Mark invited everyone to
attend. They are anticipating 10,000 people and hope
they are prepared for a large crowd. |
